Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, Visakhapatnam has released the official notification for engagement of 320 Designated Trade Apprentices for the 2026–27 batch. Eligible ITI-passed Indian nationals can apply through the apprenticeship portal and send documents offline.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• SSC/Matric Class 10 with minimum 50% marks
• ITI Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade with minimum 65% marks
• Marks/grade must be printed on certificates (grades like A/B/C without marks not accepted)

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 14 years
• Minimum 18 years for hazardous trades
• No upper age limit as per latest MSDE guidelines

Physical Standards

• Must meet minimum standards as per Apprenticeship Rules 1992

Not Eligible If

• Already completed apprenticeship in the same trade
• Currently undergoing any apprenticeship training

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting (70:30 Ratio)

Candidates shortlisted based on ratio:

• SSC Marks: 70% weightage
• ITI Marks: 30% weightage
  Hall tickets issued in 1:5 ratio per trade/category.

2. Written Examination

• OMR-based
• 100 Objective Questions
• Duration: 2 Hours
• No negative marking
• Subject-wise distribution:
  • Mathematics: 35 Questions
  • General Science: 35 Questions
  • General Knowledge: 30 Questions

3. Merit List

Prepared trade-wise & category-wise based solely on written exam marks.

4. Document Verification

Original documents required (SSC, ITI, Aadhaar, caste certificate, etc.)

5. Medical Examination

As per Apprenticeship Rules.
