About South Eastern Railway (SER)

South Eastern Railway is one of India’s major railway zones headquartered at Garden Reach, Kolkata.
RRC/SER conducts recruitment for Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 to provide technical skill training in various workshops and units. Every year, thousands of ITI-qualified candidates undergo apprenticeship training in different trades.

RRC SER Apprentice 2025-26 Notification

Online applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for engagement as Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 in workshops and units of South Eastern Railway.

Applications must be submitted online only; no other mode is accepted.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 15 years
• Maximum Age: 24 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PWD: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Service rendered + 3 years (minimum 6 months service)

Educational Qualification

• 10th Pass (Matriculation) with 50% marks from a recognized board
• ITI Certificate in relevant trade (NCVT/SCVT)

Medical Fitness

Candidate must meet the physical fitness standards of the Apprentices Act 1961 and certified by a Railway Medical Officer in the prescribed format (Annexure-II).

Application Fee

Payment must be made online using Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI.

Selection Process

Selection is purely merit-based:

1. Based on percentage of marks in Matriculation (10th)
2. Minimum 50% required
3. If tie:
   • Older candidate preferred
   • If DOB same → Candidate who passed 10th earlier preferred
4. Document verification (1.5 times of vacancies)
5. Medical fitness

Training & Stipend

• Training will be as per Apprentices Act 1961
• Stipend will be paid as per Government norms
