Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 05.12.2025)

• Upper Age Limit: 28 years (born on or after 05.12.1997)
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years (General), 15 years (SC/ST), 13 years (OBC NCL)
  • Departmental candidates: up to 45 years

Educational Qualification

• Full-time Degree in Engineering (with 65% marks average of all semesters) in any of the following disciplines:
  Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Metallurgy.

• Relaxation in Marks:
  SC/ST/PwBD/Departmental candidates with 55% marks are eligible.

• Qualification must be from AICTE/UGC-recognized institutes or equivalent.

Medical Standards

Candidates should be physically fit with:

• Minimum Height: 155 cm
• Minimum Weight: 45 kg
• Vision: ±4.00 (no color blindness/squint)
• Applicable for PwBD (OA/OL/OAL/Dwarfism) – minimum 40% disability.

Selection Process

1. Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Tentatively in January/February 2026

   • Total Marks: 200
   • Sections:
     • Domain Knowledge – 100 Marks (40 minutes)
     • Aptitude Test – 100 Marks (80 minutes)
       • Quantitative Aptitude
       • English Language
       • Reasoning
       • General Awareness
   • Qualifying Marks:
     • UR/EWS: 50 percentile
     • SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD: 40 percentile

2. Group Discussion (GD) & Interview

   • Shortlisted candidates in a 1:3 ratio based on CBT results.
   • Final Merit:
     • CBT: 75%
     • GD: 10%
     • Interview: 15%

3. Final Selection: Based on combined merit score.

   • Tie-breaking: Higher marks in CBT or B.E./B.Tech.

Placement Policy

Selected candidates may be posted at any SAIL Plant/Unit/Mine across India.
Transfer requests will not be entertained for the first four years of service (two years for departmental candidates).
