Only unmarried male candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board are eligible to apply. Candidates must also fall within the prescribed date of birth range mentioned in the official notification.
Candidates must be born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive). Additionally, the upper age at the time of enrolment should not exceed 21 years.
The selection process includes a written examination, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Stream Suitability Test and medical examination. Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for final merit selection.
The written examination consists of General English (Class 10th level) and General Knowledge (Class 10th standard). The total marks are 20, and candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 10 marks to qualify.
Candidates must qualify in Physical Fitness Test which includes running, push-ups, sit-ups and squats. The physical standards are strict, and only medically fit candidates meeting height, chest and vision criteria will be selected.
Selected candidates will receive an Agniveer package of ₹30,000 per month during the first year with fixed annual increments. In addition, they will receive allowances and benefits as per Indian Air Force rules.
Yes, candidates enrolled under the scheme are provided with a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs during the four-year engagement period.
